Mona Vale Beach

We went to Mona Vale beach three times this month. The pics were taken at our most recent trip on Boxing Day ie 26 December 2008.

We used our new cabana for the first time.  It is about 1.5mtr high and over 2mtr wide.  Mom and Dad love to take turns to snooze in it (why do Mom & Dad sleep so much?) while I played and played the whole afternoon.

 
It was more crowded than usual being a public holiday in Australia.

Closet Spring Cleaning

Yesterday Mommy cleaned out my closet (yet again) and put away clothings which I have outgrown.   I love wearing skirts, I call them “dancing skirts”

2 yrs 7 mths

Today I turned 2 yrs & 7 mths old.

Toilet training update

Able to pull myself up the toddler toilet seat (placed on top of the normal toilet seat) by standing on a stool. I no longer need assistance when doing my #1. However, I still need Mom or Dad to help clean my bum bum after doing my #2.

I wear no diapers at home including during my usual 1-1.5 hr nap time. I still need diapers at bedtime.

I am still put on diapers when going out of the house such as shopping or visiting eventhough I know and always tell Mom and Dad when I need to go to the toilet but Mom says just in case we couldn’t find a toilet in time. Mom says for the record, it is Dad who was always the one to take me to the Parent Room’s toilets and she is grateful for that. Mom has lately begun to sometimes take over this task.

Speech and understanding:

I speak constantly when I am awake and I think aloud.
I am able to come up with valid answers or reasons when my requests are being rejected or when I am told I am not allowed to go or do certain things.
For example:

Dad said, “Mommy and Daddy go shopping, you stay home, ok?”
I replied, “No, BeeBee want to buy things too”

Bedtime and Morning Call

I usually go to bed by 8.30pm/9pm and give my parents (only Mom if on weekday coz Dad would have already left for work) a wake up call at 6.40am/7.00am

I don’t always sleep through the night anymore. Some nights I get up 2-3 times and go to Mom and Dad’s room to ask for a diaper change or for no reason. I would usually agree to go back to bed and sometimes I request to sleep on the floor mattress rather than in my bed.

Hates Water

I am not much of a water drinker, much to the disappointment of Mom and Dad

Self feeding (main meals)

Still fail big time as I tend to play with the food rather than eating it.

Color recognition

Able to recognize Green, Red, Blue, Pink, White, Black, Brown, Purple, Yellow.

Counting

Able to recite 1 to 10 but most time skips the number 5.
Learning to count objects but no more than 10.

Days of the week

Learning what each day is called but do not know the sequence.

Cantonese

Fail. Knows a few words.

Yours, Mine, Me, You, Yourself, Myself

Gets confused with these all the time often referring to myself as “you” eg
“You do it” (I actually mean “I do it”)
“It’s yours” (I actually mean “it’s mine”)
“Do it yourself” (I actually mean “Do it myself”)

Manja

Always manja to my Daddy complete with crocodile tears and sad puppy face especially when Mom tells me off or gets angry with me.

(short pause) “Good, thanks”
